Etihad Airways has taken a major step to expand its fleet at the Dubai Airshow by placing a firm order with Airbus for six A330-900s, along with additional orders for seven A350-1000s and three A350F freighters.
It was also announced that nine A330-900s will be leased through Avolon. With these agreements, Etihad’s A350-1000 order portfolio reaches 27 aircraft, while its A350F freighter commitments total 10 aircraft. The A330neo models will play a key role in the airline’s medium-haul growth strategy, while the A350-1000 will continue to form the backbone of its long-haul network. The A350F freighters aim to strengthen Etihad Cargo’s capacity in line with the rising global air cargo demand.
